This Privacy Policy explains how Marlowe & June ("we," "us," "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit marloweandjune.com, place an order, or communicate with us. It is written for customers in the United States.

1. Personal Information We Collect

Information you give us: name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, order contents, account credentials, customer service correspondence, product reviews, and marketing preferences.

Payment information: your card number is entered directly into our payment processor's system. We never see, receive, or store full payment card numbers. We receive only a transaction confirmation and the last four digits.

Information collected automatically: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, clicks and scrolling, search terms used on the Site, and cookie and pixel identifiers.

Information from third parties: our e-commerce platform (Shopify), payment processors, fraud prevention services, shipping carriers, and advertising and analytics partners including Meta and Google.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, health data, or any other category of sensitive personal information.

3. Cookies, Pixels, and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies for essential Site functions (keeping your cart, keeping you signed in), analytics, and advertising. We use the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics, which means those companies receive information about your activity on our Site and may combine it with information they already hold about you.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and through the cookie preferences link in our Site footer. Blocking essential cookies will break checkout.

Global Privacy Control: we honor the GPC browser signal as a valid opt-out of the sale and sharing of personal information for residents of states where that is required.

4. How We Share Personal Information

We share personal information with the following categories of recipients, only as needed to run our business:

E-commerce and hosting platform (Shopify)
Payment processors, card networks, and banks
Shipping carriers, customs brokers, and fulfillment partners, including partners located outside the United States
Fraud prevention and identity verification services
Email and SMS service providers
Advertising and analytics platforms, including Meta and Google
Professional advisors, and any acquirer in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
Law enforcement or regulators where legally required, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our customers

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of advertising cookies and the Meta Pixel may qualify as "selling" or "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California and certain other state laws. You can opt out at any time — see Section 6.

5. International Transfers

Your order information, including your name and shipping address, is transmitted to our fulfillment partners located outside the United States so that your order can be manufactured, packed, shipped, and cleared through customs. Personal information may also be processed or stored outside the United States by our service providers. We take reasonable steps to require these partners to protect your information and to use it only for the purposes we specify.

6. Your Privacy Rights

All U.S. customers. Regardless of where you live, you may ask us to:

Confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and give you a copy
Correct inaccurate personal information
Delete your personal information, subject to legal and record-keeping exceptions
Stop selling or sharing your personal information for targeted advertising
Unsubscribe from marketing

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights under law, plus the right to appeal a denied request and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.

To exercise any right, email privacy@marloweandjune.com with the subject "Privacy Request," or use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in our Site footer. We respond within 45 days and may extend once by another 45 days where permitted, with notice to you. We verify requests by matching the email address and order details you provide against our records. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written proof of authorization.

Appeals: if we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. We respond to appeals within 45 days. If we deny your appeal, you may contact your state Attorney General.

California Shine the Light: California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures.

Nevada residents may submit a verified request to opt out of any future sale of covered information to privacy@marloweandjune.com.

7. Email Marketing

We send marketing email only to people who have opted in. Every marketing email includes a working unsubscribe link and our physical mailing address, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. We honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days. You will continue to receive transactional emails about orders you have placed.

8. SMS and Text Messages

If you provide your mobile number and check the SMS consent box, you give express written consent to receive recurring automated marketing text messages from Marlowe & June at that number. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.

Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance. You may also email privacy@marloweandjune.com. Opting out of texts does not opt you out of email.

9. Data Security

We use SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit, PCI-DSS compliant payment processing, access controls limiting staff access to what is necessary, and monitoring for unusual activity. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable state breach notification laws.

10. Data Retention

We keep order and transaction records for 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations. Customer service correspondence is kept for 3 years. Marketing contact data is kept until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record kept indefinitely so we do not contact you again. Analytics and advertising data is kept for up to 26 months.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email privacy@marloweandjune.com and we will delete it. We also do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Our Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing personal information.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date will change and the current version is always posted here. Material changes will be announced by email or a Site notice.
