We want you to know exactly what you are buying. This page explains how our products are made, what natural variation you can expect, and where our responsibility begins if something is genuinely wrong.
1. How Our Products Are Made
Marlowe & June apparel is produced by manufacturing partners overseas and ships to you directly from our fulfillment center. Garments are produced in batches, and small differences between batches are a normal part of apparel manufacturing.
2. Normal Variation
You may notice minor differences between the item you receive and the photograph on the product page, including:
- Slight variation in color shade or brightness between dye lots
- Small differences in fabric texture or hand-feel
- Minor differences in stitching or seam finish
- Variation in hardware finish, such as zippers or buttons
- Creasing or compression from vacuum packing, which resolves after hanging or a gentle steam
Product photographs are taken under professional studio lighting, and your screen's brightness, contrast, and color profile will affect how colors appear. This is a limitation of online retail generally, not of a specific garment.
3. Where the Line Is
This disclaimer covers minor cosmetic variation only. It does not and cannot cover:
- An item that is a materially different color, style, or design than what was advertised
- An item made of a materially different fabric than described
- An item that does not match its stated size or measurements
- Damage, holes, broken hardware, failed seams, or missing components
- The wrong item entirely
If any of the above happens, it is our problem, not yours. Contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we will replace or fully refund the item at no cost to you, and in most cases without asking you to ship it back. See Section 5 of our Return & Refund Policy.
4. Returns Based on Minor Variation
If you simply do not like the shade or texture in person, that is a valid reason to return the item — it is handled as a standard change-of-mind return under our Return & Refund Policy, which means the return shipping cost is yours. We are not able to cover return shipping for normal variation, but you are welcome to contact us first: we frequently offer a partial refund so you can keep the item instead.
5. Sizing
Our garments are cut to the measurements published in the size guide on each product page. Sizing may differ from U.S. domestic brands you are used to. Please measure yourself and compare to the size guide rather than ordering your usual size. Sizing dissatisfaction is handled as a change-of-mind return.
6. Packaging
To keep shipping costs down and to reduce shipping weight, items may arrive vacuum-compressed, in protective poly mailers, or in unbranded packaging. This does not affect the product.
7. Fiber Content and Care
Fiber content, country of origin, and care instructions are stated on the sewn-in label of each garment and, where available, on the product page. Please follow the care label. Damage caused by washing or drying contrary to the care label is not a defect and is not covered by our return policy.
8. California Proposition 65
WARNING: Certain products sold on this Site can expose you to chemicals, which may include phthalates in printed or coated fabrics and lead in metal hardware and trim, known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Where a specific product requires a Proposition 65 warning, that warning is also displayed on the product page before purchase.
9. No Medical or Performance Claims
Our products are apparel and accessories. We make no claims that any product provides medical, therapeutic, slimming, posture-correcting, or health benefits of any kind.
